Always check the water temperature with your hand before bathing your baby. Be sure the room is comfortably warm, too ||The pacifier’s guard or shield should have ventilation holes so the baby can breathe if the shield does get into the mouth ||Only close friends and relatives should visit you during your first month at home. They should not visit if they are sick ||Proper weight gain is the sign that your baby is having enough milk. Not crying and not comparing with other kids ||Never tie a pacifier to your child’s crib or around your child’s neck or hand. This could cause serious injury or even death ||Try to develop passions outside of work. Don't define yourself by your job, and have the courage to be imperfect. ||Your baby should have 4-6 wet diapers per day. This is a great way to monitor if they're getting enough milk ||Excessive warmth and overdressing are as harmful as cold weather. Temperature inside your home should not exceed 23 degrees ||A great deal of body heat is lost through a bare head, so make sure your baby wears a hat if she will be in a cold environment ||Look for early signs of hunger, such as stirring and stretching, sucking motions and lip movements. Fussing and crying are later cues ||

• It is a physiological phenomenon due to spasmodic contraction of the diaphragm.
• it is mostly not a Warning sign for any critical illness which usually stops spontenuously.
• it is frequent in children and is usually more tolerable by them compared to the adults.
• it might interfere with breast feeding as the baby will stop suckling during Hiccup.
• It is more common with overfeeding or air swallowing with teat use.

Tips to stop Hiccup

  • The baby should be held in an upright position with gentle rubbing of his back
  • Drinking a small amount of warm water usually helps
